Wedding Inspiration: Guide to All-White Wedding Decor

The most enjoyable part of planning a wedding is choosing the theme and color scheme. It is every couple’s wish to put their unique stamp on their wedding and truly make it their own.
A white wedding is timeless, classic and oh so romantic. It’s the color most associated with weddings and opting for an all-white wedding can produce striking results.
So, will it be all-white on the night?

Set the tone with white invitation cards. Employ the use of texture by having embossed details to add an elegant touch.

Dressing the part
An all-white bridal party is the color of choice for royalty and celebrities. The bride’s dress should be a different style to that of the bridesmaids’ to ensure she stands out. The bride can opt for a tight-fitted dress and have her entourage in floaty gowns. Alternatively, if the bride chooses a full-skirted dress then the bridesmaids could wear more fitted styles or short dresses.
Faux fur, depending on the season, lace and embroidery add texture and drama. The bride’s bouquet should also be distinct and of a different style and size. Men can wear white flower buttons. For summer weddings, males can wear white or cream suits and for an evening celebration, one can opt for white tie.
Whatever the season
White lends itself beautifully to a winter wonderland wedding theme and the results can be breathtaking. Crystals and gems can be used to great effect to emulate an icy paradise. At the other end of the season spectrum, a white summer wedding evokes floaty drapes and outdoor, flower-strewn venues. Chairs can be covered with white drapery or have white bows tied at the back. A white carpet runner is an elegant touch.

Blooming Beautiful
Flowers are key for a fabulous decor. A large variety of white blooms is available which can be made into arrangements that can look classic or modern depending on choice. Bunches of gypsophila can be used to line the celebration aisle to produce a romantic effect. Posies can also be placed in hanging pots for a modern look.
Columns and arches garlanded with flowers look stunning and make a great background for photos. Large flower arrangements with full bloomed flowers like roses give a lavish effect. A more contemporary feel can be achieved by using blooms like tulips in square, tall vases and by using tall, rectangular urns.
Create some great photo opportunities by having a flower wall. One of the latest trends is to have huge cascading overhead flower installation
A Touch of Texture
When using a monochrome color scheme it is vital to have plenty of texture to prevent a flat, washed-out look. Think faux fur, velvet, lace, embroidery, embellishments and embossed surfaces. Texture can be incorporated all across the board. From invites to place cards, service programmes to souvenir cards; on the bride’s and/or bridesmaids’ dresses; for table settings.
Fur can be used in glamorous stoles, white or cream velvet cushions and upholstery make the venue look lush while metallic embellishments catch the light and give a fabulous, rich effect. Embroidery can be included on anything from clothing to cushions, to placemats and table linen.
Sheer white drapery and streamers can be used to great effect, in particular, for summer weddings, and look beautiful when fluttering in the wind against clear blue skies and sea or verdant green gardens. Layered fabrics are also a great way to add depth. This is easily achieved by layering table linens and using embellished table runners.

Table talk
Nothing says elegant more than a white table setting. The sheen of pure white tableware, crisp white table linens, and gorgeous color coordinated table flower arrangements create an exquisite sight. Go refined and have single white roses in stem vases or group sculptural flowers in tall glass containers for a sumptuous effect.
Finishing touches
Use candles for a romantic, dreamy atmosphere. White tea lights can be placed in glass or white, perforated candle holders. Place them on tables and to line stairs and pathways. Have varied sizes of pillar candles in clear glass holders placed in focal points to create a serene setting.
Shower the bride and groom with white confetti or have a flower girl scatter white rose petals up the aisle.
White can also be used as the main color for wedding favors. Think white iced almond sweets or biscuits, white chocolate or white decorative knick-knacks. Silver or gold touches will add to the setting!
A fun idea would be to have instant cameras made available. Guests can display their photos in a bespoke, white leather wedding guest book and can accompany their snaps with personal quotes and messages. This would make a poignant keepsake of your wedding.
